The latest research shows that we as a nation are not getting any healthier, we are getting fatter each year. A recent article in the USA Today showed that obesity rates in 31 states were higher in 2007 than in 2006. What was troubling was no state showed a decline. The problem is that this shows no signs of stopping.

Each year, more low fat or non fat products come out but yet we still don’t lose the weight. More health and diet books and DVDs come out but yet we still don’t lose weight .

They say fear of loss is greater than the desire for gain but yet that doesn’t seem to be the case for losing weight . Despite all the research showing that losing weight will help you live longer and prevent most health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problems, sleeping problems and several more.

How to lose weight now and stop procrastinating?

#1 turn off the TV. Or better yet, get rid of the TV altogether. Yes, throw out your brand new 100 inch digital plasma TV. Not having a TV to watch for 8 hours a day will do wonders to how much you can get done.

Your kids will also get more done too.

You’ll be amazed at how much more free time you have just by turning off the TV. Instead of vegging out in front of the TV, you can go out and play. Learn a new hobby or learn how to dance.

Most people say they don’t have time to workout or go to a gym. But yet they have time to watch American Idol or Lost or CSI.

The thing is, you don’t have to go to gym to workout. There are plenty of body weight exercises that you can do at home in 20 minutes that will get you burning fat and calories and get you in shape.

Another procrastination tip - read stories about 100 year old obese people. Chances are, you won’t find any. There are not too many obese individuals who live to a ripe old age. But you will find several stories of 100 year olds who have stayed active and stayed in shape. Read the secrets of their success.

What’s the biggest thing you can lose in your life? Your life. That’s what you’ll lose by not losing weight and getting the pounds off. Lose weight now and stop putting it off. Stop procrastinating.
