The 3 Keys Required to Lose Weight and Look Lean

In today’s hectic society, everyone wants to look fitter, healthier and more toned. There are many charlatans out there who try and convince you that doing this is hard, and impossible unless you buy the product they are trying to sell. A lot of the time this is not true. To put it simply, there are three components to constructing a healthy, lean, muscular body. You need to combine all three of the following to be truly successful in your goals of losing weight and building muscle. These things are:

  1. Resistance training- Resistance training is anything that involves working your muscles hard (i.e. weights, push-ups etc) Resistance training is what helps you build muscle so you can look more toned.In addition to toning your muscles, resistance training will also help build more muscle which in turn will help you burn more calories throughout the day. This in turn will help you look leaner

  2. Moderate cardiovascular activity- Any activity that increases your heart rate, from a moderate walk to a 10km run will help you burn calories and lose body fat.As well as making you look and feel better, regular moderate cardiovascular exercise is important for lowering your risk of heart disease.Cardio will a so help to reduce stress, so if you have a stressful job do your cardio after work to make you more relaxed so that you can get a more sound sleep.

  3. Supportive nutrition- there is no point doing the above two activities if you are not going to change your diet. You need to cut out the fats and eat healthier if you want to lose weight . You also need to eat correctly at the right time of day. Breakfast should be your biggest meal of the day and dinner the smallest. If you are not in a “dieting” mode, at least try to cut out junk food and make better food choices. Once you see how much better you feel, you will want to continue on the road to better eating.
