How To Get Rid Of Stomach Fat in 5 Simple Steps

The weight loss industry is cashing in on stomach fat because it is a main criteria in our society for physical beauty and perceived health. Not only is stomach fat unattractive, it can be very dangerous to your health. Your diet and lifestyle have a profound effect on your health and you must understand this in order to plan your attack on stomach fat. If you are serious about getting rid of that extra stomach fat, then the following tips will put you on the right path:

1. Make the Decision

Your first step in reducing stomach fat is to make the decision to take care of yourself. Stomach fat has been associated with an increased risk for colon and kidney cancers because it elevates levels of certain hormones that affect cancer cell growth. Also, stomach fat builds up around the internal organs and suffocates them, causing them to be overworked and to function less efficiently. Reducing stomach fat is a huge step toward reducing the risks of many health problems.

2. Understand Your Metabolism

Understanding what your metabolism is and how it works is necessary to know why and how to increase your metabolism. If you want faster metabolism, you must learn how your body reacts to food, exercise and other factors.

3. Remember That Diets Don’t Work

Poor diet and not enough exercise, which also lead to other problems like high blood pressure and diabetes are causing people to get fatter and fatter. Don’t think that you can drastically reduce your calorie intake in order to lose more fat. You may lose a few pounds initially, but your metabolism will grind to a screeching halt when it figures out what you are doing. To lose stomach fat, you must keep your metabolism as high as possible, and in order to do that, you need to fuel your body. It is important to watch portion sizes and not eat too much at once. It is better to eat 5-6 smaller meals than to have 3 larger meals per day. Plenty of water , fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, not too much meat are the building blocks for a healthy and effective weightloss plan.

4. Move Your Body

Regular and consistent exercise are also keys to making any weightloss program work. Many people don’t enjoy exercise, however, the good news is that stomach muscles respond very well to even a little exercise, so a little bit of exercise done consistently can bring results for most people. Resistance training also increases your metabolism and reshapes your body in the process. As we get older our metabolism slows. This leads to a slow loss of muscle and an increase in fat stores. Resistance training builds muscle and muscle will burn more stomach fat. Remember that your stomach muscles will not be visible until you lose the layer of fat that is covering them up.

5. Take a “Chill Pill”

If only it were as simple as taking a pill! In our fast-paced society, we are surrounded by situations, problems, deadlines, and even other people who cause stress in our lives. Stress is a major factor of increased stomach fat. In stressful situations, your body releases a stress hormone called cortisol. The problem comes for those who are chronically stressed, since their cortisol levels remain elevated and this triggers cravings for high-fat, high-sugar foods. To lose stomach fat, you must find effective ways to lower your stress levels. Doing this will curb those cravings for more fattening foods. Some of the best anti-stress techniques are deep-breathing, meditation, and relaxation methods like listening to soft music, soaking in a hot bath, or even taking a nap. Another way for managing stress is to include foods like olive oil, fatty fish, nuts and seeds in your eating plan.

Stomach fat is a serious problem for many people, but there are proven ways to reduce it. Once you have weighed the risks of carrying stomach fat and you have plotted a course of action, be consistent in our efforts to reduce it. The embarrassment of excess stomach fat doesn’t have to hold you back anymore. Follow these tips and you will be well on your way to a leaner more attractive you!
